Your Employment Equity Compliance Journey
Employment Equity compliance isn’t a once-off task — it’s a structured, multi-year process that includes consultation, planning, implementation, and reporting. At SpecCon Holdings, we guide you through every stage with clarity, compliance expertise, and practical tools to ensure you’re always on track.
The 6 Stages of Compliance
1. Determine Designated Employer Status
We begin by assessing whether your business meets the threshold for EE compliance based on headcount or turnover.
2. Establish Your EE Committee
We assist in setting up a compliant, representative Employment Equity Committee to meet consultation requirements.
3. Analyse Your Workforce
We collect and assess your current workforce profile against national targets to identify representation gaps.
4. Draft Your EE Plan
We develop a legally sound EE Plan with achievable targets, strategies, and implementation timeframes.
5. Submit EEA2 & EEA4 Reports
Our team prepares and submits your annual reports to the Department of Labour, on time and error-free.
6. Maintain Records & Prepare for Audits
We compile your EE file, track progress, and ensure you’re always ready for inspection or verification.
Timelines and Deadlines
- EE Plan Duration: Typically valid for 1 to 5 years
- Annual Reporting:
- Manual submissions: by 1 October
- Online submissions: by 15 January
- Committee Meetings: At least quarterly
- Audit Readiness: Ongoing — best practice is to maintain a complete file year-round
